When they first released the title, I was skeptical to watch it because of the raccoon character (it's ridiculous right, raccoon as a superhero?). Well, guess what?! I have spent awesome 2 hours of my time yesterday watching this movie! Love all the characters, love the story line, love the graphics as well. 

Chris Pratt is one of my favorite TV series character. Yes, he is in Parks in Recreation.  Seeing his before and after body is just gila inspiring. 

School Is Hard

When we were kids, we always thought that school was hard (well, for most of us at least). The reason: homework. Little did we know, there are many other things that are harder than homework. Same condition apply now. Some things may be tough now, but always remember that you will get through it as you get older and wiser. 

Lari-Lari

This fella may be small but he ran more laps than me this morning! 

It is good that he started running at the early age. But for those who all grown up like me, it's never too late to start now. Go to the nearest shoe store and get your own running shoes! If you can afford, get the expensive one because believe me, you will be running in that pair of shoes after spending a large sum of money on it. 

Running is the easiest cardiovascular exercise that one can participate. For me, I run not just because I want to lose some weight, but also because I want to live a healthy life. I also want to enjoy all the good food in the world. Yes, you may enjoy those fried food (in acceptable portion) provided that you'll exercise afterwards to burn those calories. For more benefits of running, well, you can google it yourself. There are a lot! 

Xinjiang Noodles

This was yesterday. Xinjiang noodles for dinner. It is a handmade noodles, then served topped with stir-fried meat and veges. My first taste of authentic Chinese food. Not bad, but I just wish it could be more spicy. RM7 / plate at Mahallah Farouq's Cafeteria, UIA.

Dear Frozen Yogurt,

I've only been once to Tutti Fruitti so far. Tutti Fruitti is one of the famous frozen yogurt brand in Malaysia (and some other parts of the world). To be honest, they are selling overpriced yogurt. Contrary to the number of Tutti Fruitti cup pictures uploaded  and the going-for comments on Facebook, I don't think that the yogurt is that delicious at all. Don't let me start talking about the toppings. Urgh. And now, there are other brands mushrooming.

But of course, eating yogurt (minus the toppings) is undoubtedly healthier than ice cream. 

Masalah Mesin ATM - Duit Tak Keluar, Baki Ditolak

Sejak akhir-akhir ini, banyak kali juga terdengar tentang masalah dengan mesin ATM, terutamanya berkenaan dengan pengeluaran wang tunai. Ada lah beberapa teman yang dikenali berkongsi pengalaman mereka melalui Whatsapp dan juga Facebook. Contoh seperti di gambar sebelah. Mulanya, aku buat tak endah, memandang enteng, sehinggalah perkara tersebut terjadi kepada aku sendiri kelmarin (lihat status Facebook di bawah). Isu mungkin berlainan, tetapi tetap berkenaan dengan mesin ATM yang tidak mengeluarkan wang seperti yang sepatutnya.

 

Lepas aku kongsi pengalaman true story aku, rupa-rupanya, ramai lagi kawan-kawan yang pernah mengalami atau mengenali mereka yang pernah mengalami masalah seperti ini. Kenapa isu ini tidak dibangkitkan oleh media mainstream pun aku kurang pasti. 

Apabila perkara seperti ini terjadi, jangan panik. Apa yang perlu anda lakukan hanyalah seperti yang di bawah:-

1. Apabila isu terjadi (duit tidak keluar, tetapi baki ditolak), anda boleh sahkan isu melalui beberapa cara:-
• Meyemak baki melalui mesin ATM (jika anda masih mengingati baki yang sebelum ini.
• Menyemak senarai urusan transaksi secara online.
• Menyemak senarai urusan transaksi dengan operator bank (call center).
2. Jika isu sah (ada pemotongan), catatkan nombor mesin yang diletakkan dibahagian hadapan mesin ATM terbabit.
3. Catatkan masa berlakunya isu dan juga jumlah wang yang gagal dikeluarkan.
4. Simpan resit / bukti transaksi (jika ada).
5. Jika anda berdekatan dengan bank, laporkan terus kepada pihak bank tersebut. Anda mungkin disuruh mengisi borang dengan butiran yang dicatat sebelum ini.
6. Jika mesin tidak berdekatan dengan bank, atau urusan transaksi dilakukan pada luar waktu pejabat, sila telefon nombor kecemasan ATM yang tertera pada mesin berkenaan.
7. Laporkan isu kepada bank pada esok harinya dengan segera.

Langkah berhati-hati yang paling senang boleh dilakukan ialah dengan menyemak baki wang anda sebelum membuat apa-apa transaksi. Dengan ini, anda boleh sahkan terus samada ada pemotongan ataupun tidak.

Shila Amzah - A Moment Like This (Chinese Version)

I'm staying up all night right now listening to Shila Amzah, singing Chinese songs. It was all started when one of my Facebook friends share her latest video on the timeline.

I couldn't share Shila's latest appearances here as it is only available on Facebook for the time being. However, as I went through YouTube, I found this one video of Shila's performance that I love very much from the first time I listened to it. She performed "A Moment Like This", originally sang by Kelly Clarkson, in Chinese! It is actually the theme song of the Chinese Idol. Love it! Amazing! Incredible! Powerful! Did I said I love it?

After a Horrible Presentation

This is somehow what I feel after giving a horrible presentation last week.

But since I'm not that bad of a person (self-proclaimed of course), I just wish that the rest of the classmates got partial memory loss, particularly of the time when I was presenting. ;)

Learning English

Yesterday, when I went for my first class, Introduction to Linguistic, I was asked by the lecturer, why did I choose English, instead of continue with Engineering? I said, I want to do something according to my interest, and I want to be good in English, speaking and writing. The latter part was not really a good answer. He said that a number of undergraduate Bachelor in English Language (BENL) students also had the same intentions, but not all able to improve their English. He suggested that I could actually sign up for an English course outside, the one that we have to pay thousands, but they would actually teach us the correct way to be better in English in both writing and speaking. 

However, to me, sometimes, when you are force to do something, you could actually be good at it. To be honest, when I took Engineering, specifically Biotechnology Engineering, I was not doing it because it was my interest. Due to my good result in SPM back in 2002, my late father had a high expectation to me, when choosing what I going to be in the future. He wanted me to pursue, either Medicine and Engineering. Not that I didn't have a say, at that point also, I was not really sure what I'm gonna be in the future. Since I have less interest in Biology, I chose Engineering rather. Alhamdulillah I was able to get good result for my foundation studies (Foundation in Engineering). During that year, I was very interested in Chemistry. So, when pursuing my degree, I decided to pursue something which related to Chemistry.

Unfortunately, when the time to chose my specialty, I found out that UIA did not offer Chemical Engineering. The nearest that I could apply was Biochemical-Biotechnology Engineering, and hence my degree. There were ups and downs, but after four years, Alhamdulillah I was able to graduate with a good results. 

The point is, I did excel in Engineering although I didn't really like the major. And now, after years I have grow interest in learning English. Actually, it was since my third year of my undergraduate. UIA did offer engineering students to do minor in BENL, but because of my course load at that time, I didn't go for the minor.

Why suddenly after four years of my graduation? I did apply for master in English and/or Education, in UPM and USM, but was rejected. After that, I actually gave up. And I was working with HP and the pay was good also. Until I found out from one of my friend that I could actually apply for Master in English in UIA, provided that I have to excel in pre-requisite undergraduate courses first.

I must say, after attending two days of classes, BENL courses are not easy as most students assume. They have to learn all about the technical part of the language itself. The pre-requisite courses that I have to take are Introduction to Linguistics, Grammatical Analysis, Discourse Analysis, Phonetics and Phonology, and Semantics. My friend said that I have to pay more attention for Semantics as it is one of the challenging subjects.

Ok, I think that's it for now. I will write more after this as I need to improve my writing skills. :)

Back to School

Yeah... Back to school after four years. I am now pursuing my Master in English Language Studies (although my English is not really excellent). Due to my degree is different from the master studies that I chose, they need me to take a few undergraduate subjects.

I really, really, really have to work hard this semester, to show to the department that I am qualified to further my studies in this field.

Computer Says No!

Meet Carol Beer.

  

Carol is a permanently bored and extremely unhelpful woman who works at various jobs requiring the use of a computer, such as a bank clerk, travel agent and hospital receptionist. Upon being approached by a customer with a very reasonable request, she will type this in to her computer and, upon discovering the request cannot be met, she will respond with a bored "computer says no." She is unwilling to use any human reason or common sense to help her customers, and will then cough at them to make them leave.

Opposite to Carol, during my job, I will try my very best to help any customer regarding their technical issue, with any possible mean that I have at that point. However, there are still some people which don't understand and straight away accuse that I didn't do my job properly. At that particular moment, I wish I can switch on my 'Carol' mode, and say to his face, COMPUTER SAYS NO! Haih~

Exhausted

Who knows, sleeping two to three hours during the fasting month can be so exhausted. So guys, avoid too much sleeping. Be active, but not too active though, or the outcome will be the same.

Super Street Fighter IV

Introducing, my new addiction, Street Fighter 4!

It is one of the first arcade game that I used to play with my siblings back when I was in primary school. Back then, the game was in 2D and the graphic was not as excellent as today. The Ultra and Super combo attacks  were also in one direction only.  The characters were also not as diverse.

In Super Street Fighter IV, there are more than 30 characters available. For me, Chun Li, Ryu and Rose are still my top favorites. However, there are also some underdog characters that have massive combo attacks such as Yin, Yang and also Juri.

 

The best thing about SSF IV is the Ultra Combo attack. Memang kaww tak hengat! See the video below:-

The Three Ds

It took me more that 15 minutes  just to adjust the position and the size of the picture. The new blogger's 'insert image' format has some cons there. I was unable to re-size the picture with a custom width x height. Anyway, I'm not here to babble about blogger's new features. I'm here to talk about my two nephews and niece. 

Introducing, the Three Ds! They are Wan Muhammad Darwish (9), Wan Nur Diyanah (6) and the youngest one, Wan Muhammad Darimi (3). You guys want to know more about them? Keep on reading then. I actually have the pleasure of them answering several questions for you guys.

Who are you and what do you do?

Darwish: You can call me Darwish. I'm 9 years old, what do you think I'm doing? I'm a primary school student of course.

Diyanah: I am Princess Diyanah.

Darimi: Bubby!

What work do you most enjoying doing?

Darwish: Err.. Playing games. Watching cartoons, Ben 10 mostly.

Diyanah: Sleeping? Opps. My bad. I'm a princess. Of course the most enjoying thing that I've done is.. err.. giving back to the society. Yeah, charity work.

Darimi: Bubby! Bubby!

What's your scariest experience?

Darwish: Having had to battle with  the horrifying zombies in Plant Vs Zombies games.

Diyanah: Homaigad! There was one time, I saw a cockroach when I was in the bathroom. It was the scariest moment eva (in diva mode)!. Someone please clean the bathroom please?!

Darimi: Bubby?

What makes you angry?

Darwish: The pigs in the Angry Birds game? They are really annoying and always pissed me off.

Diyanah: Again, I'm a princess. You see. I cannot get angry. Hehe. Can someone clean the bathroom?! How many time I have to yell?! Homaigad! (Errr???)

Darimi: Bubby.

What superpower would you have and why? And Darimi, please don't just answer 'Bubby'. It's getting annoying.

Darwish: I want the Ben 10's Omnitrix. Is it count as superpower? Hehe! I want to have the powers of the aliens!

Diyanah: The power to turn an ugly face like yours to a beautiful one. Should I tell why? (Errr?)

Darimi: Bubby! Bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby bubby. Nah.

Professionally, what's your goal?

Darwish: Manchester United?

Diyanah: What kind of question is that? I'm a lady!

Darimi: Stop asking us lame question. It's getting ridiculous.

Err.. That's all for now. Suddenly the three of them wanted to go to the toilet at the same time.

Certificate

I just received my first job-related certificate today! I will upload the picture later (probably :p ). It's nothing fancy, as I got it due to participating in one of the company's training. But at least, I can add one more into my collection and I will 'preserve' it in my big-fat certificate file. :)
